Objective: I will learn to complete subjects in Unusual Position by working with a partner on lesson 5. I will learn how to summarize the end of Act 2 by reviewing as a class.

Read/Watch: The remainder of Act 2

Discussion: Why are women smarter than men? (think, pair, share) Why are men smarter than women? (think, pair, share) How are each points of view gender stereotyping? (think, pair, share) Do you think that Shakespeare stereotypes men and women? (think, pair, share)

Activity: In a small group examine Act 2 and find incidents of characters reading or mis-reading "signs", and making either wise or foolish decisions. Each group needs to keep lists divided by the gender of the character.

Share: Discuss the findings of each group and create a master list on the whiteboard.

Groups: Return to your group and choose one of the following assignments:
A. Script and prepare to perform a dialogue between Calpurnia and Portia discussing the way their husbands treat them,
OR,
B. Script and prepare to perform a dialogue between Caesar and Brutus about the way their wives don't seem to understand the affairs of men.
Perform: using the script you prepared, perform it for the class.
Discussion: In what ways do men and women communicate ineffectively in this play? How have these dialogues reflected that lack of communication? (think, pair, share)

Writing: Create a Power Point presentation, or Word outline that summarizes Act 2 (15 minutes) these can be used for the composition test at the end of the play.
